Success Stories
Our success stories speak volumes about our history and what Platinum Solutions can do for you. Our work for law enforcement includes case management systems and analytical systems to solve violent crimes and sexual assault cases. Our work also has helped to create a system to track overseas kidnapping incidents, support an FBI crisis negotiations unit, and has resulted in a domestic reporting system for hostage situations. We built special tools for digital image analysis, as well as symbolism analysis tools that help decipher gang symbols in graffiti.
Here are just a few of our accomplishments:
FBI Violent Criminal Apprehension System (ViCAP) - Provides improved communication and coordination between law enforcement agencies as well as support in their effort to investigate, track, and apprehend violent serial offenders. This Web-enabled application utilizes a SOA architecture that has become a component of other FBI projects.
FBI Evidentiary Metadata System (EVMS) - This computer forensics tool is
designed to help investigators become more efficient in evaluating digital
evidence for use in anti-terrorism activities.
FBI Law Enforcement Online (LEO) - The FBI LEO network is the secure information interchange for all law enforcement officers at the state, local, and federal levels. LEO provides registered law enforcement officers with secure e-mail, a Web portal for sharing materials and information between agencies, and a series of specialized applications to support agents in the field.
Hostage and Barricade System (HOBAS) & the Overseas Kidnapping System (OKS) - Platinum Solutions completed the Hostage and Barricade System (HOBAS) for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in conjunction with partner Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). The HOBAS online application provides the FBI's Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU) with a centralized repository for hostage, barricade, and international kidnapping incident data and resolution outcomes. HOBAS provides data collection functionality, search capabilities, and statistical analytics. The HOBAS Web application is made available to law enforcement agencies throughout the country via the Law Enforcement Online (LEO) secure network, another Platinum Solutions success story.
