From Here to There: Migrating to Test Driven Development

This presentation encompasses many of the issues that "Java shops" are currently tackling to implement Test-First Development, including concerns about budgetary or time constraints, design-level implication of the test-first paradigm, and the learning curve of the industry-standard tools that enable test-first development in the first place.
The problem is that while a great majority of developers would agree that test-first development is better than traditional development at many levels, it is not very easy to actually do it. It takes a shift in our approach to development, our "development habits". It takes discipline, patience and a faith in it to successfully switch. The presenter talks about his experiences getting started in test first development and offers some advice on how to others can tackle the same problem.
